Multek Flexible Circuits, Inc., a leading provider of flexible interconnect products and industrial materials, has an immediate opening for the following positions.

   

Sr. Process Engineer - Materials

This position will have technical leadership responsibility for the development and support of vacuum deposited processes with the Specialty Materials business unit.  Representative job duties include:  Roll to roll vacuum coating of  ITO, copper, nichrome, aluminum, gold and silver by sputtering, thermal and electron beam evaporation.  Responsible for process development and continuous improvement that meets timing, reliability, quality and cost targets from concept through volume production; developing FMEA, control plans and writing of technical documents; perform maintenance on vacuum chambers and related equipment; install new equipment on existing vacuum machines; participate and lead teams as required; perform related duties as assigned. 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science or other technical discipline with five years’ experience in vacuum technology, vacuum deposition and web handling.  Additional requirements include knowledge, skill and ability in the following areas: statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; quality systems; material manufacturing processes.  The successful candidate will possess superior organizational, project management, communication, problem solving, leadership and team skills.  Must have the ability and willingness to travel internationally.

Business Development Manager - Sheldahl Materials

Based in Northfield, this position will have leadership responsibility for achieving sales and profit growth for specific accounts by executing selling, business management, and customer satisfaction activities that support the strategic, marketing, and product plans of the corporation.  Representative job duties include: develop new business by identifying customer needs and matching them with Sheldahl products and capabilities; organize and lead cross-functional account teams; resolve customer problems and issues; follow-up with customers to ensure satisfaction; ensure communication of account information throughout the corporation as appropriate; prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts; perform related duties as assigned. 

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical sales background, with 10 years relevant experience in sales.  The successful candidate will have verifiable results in attaining sales goals year in and year out; superior leadership; project management; organizational communication; customer relations; problem solving and must be proficient in Microsoft Office.  Desired qualifications:  Industry knowledge in Flexible Circuitry or Thin Film deposition; adhesive and coatings background and technical degree in Material Science. Time in the field with customers is expected to be 50-60 percent of the time.

Product Engineer - Materials

Provide technical guidance to support new & existing products.  Translate customer requirements into specifications; create and maintain item numbers, bills of material and routings; develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met; coordinate product evaluation with engineering test labs; communicate technical experimental results through specifications, standards and reports as appropriate; introduce new techniques, procedures, and capabilities when applicable; initiate corrective action as required while maintaining proper balance with costs; coordinate appropriate NCR/CAR activities; work with manufacturing, purchasing and vendors to qualify new materials to enhance our product offering; manage NPI programs, assuring smooth transition of programs from concept to production; prepare detailed and summarized task-oriented schedules, milestones, and coordinate with project teams; prompt follow through on open items to assure timely solution of problems; formally and objectively report on a regular basis the following: product capability, actual cost vs. Planned costs, schedule status, major product problems/issues, competitive evaluations, e.t.c. as pertinent; promptly bring to management attention any significant deviations with regard to safety, product quality and cost, recommend corrective action; assure that required documentation for programs and projects is completed in a timely manner (e.g. FMEA, NPI, PPAP); support and utilize new and existing policies and procedures; other tasks as assigned.

Bachelor degree in Engineering or other science; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of company personnel and others outside the company; ability to effectively manage the interaction of suppliers, technology partners and customers in the development and qualification of technology; possess knowledge, skills and/or abilities in statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; quality systems; material manufacturing processes; customer relations and have superior computer skills using Microsoft Office, Minitab, and Oracle.

Process Engineer - Materials  

This position will have technical responsibility for the development and support of vacuum deposited processes within the Specialty Materials business unit.  Representative job duties include: Developing and maintaining processes for the roll-to-roll vacuum coating of ITO, copper, nichrome, aluminum, gold and silver and others, by thermal evaporation and/or sputtering; specifying, documenting, costing and commercializing products for the Display, Thermal Control, Electronic and other related industries;  process monitoring and control, yield improvement and cost reduction activities; development of FMEA and control plans, writing of technical documents; performing maintenance on vacuum chambers and related equipment;  research, specification and installation of new equipment and equipment upgrades; interaction with all functions associated with the factory including quality, product engineering, purchasing and sales; leading and participating in NPI and CAR teams as required.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science with specific experience in most of the following: computer based control systems, mechanical pumps, PLCs, sputtering and evaporation technologies in a web-based manufacturing environment.  The successful candidate will also possess knowledge, skills and abilities in statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; quality systems; material manufacturing processes; leadership/facilitation and customer support with the willingness to travel internationally.

Associate Product Engineer - Materials  

This position will have responsibility to provide technical guidance to support new and existing products within the Materials business unit.  Representative job duties include: translate customer requirements into specifications; create and maintain item numbers, bills of materials and routings; develop test plans/methods to ensure product reliability and performance targets are met; coordinate product evaluation with engineering test labs; communicate technical experimental results through specifications, standards and reports as appropriate; introduce new techniques and procedures; serve as point of contact for customer corrective action requests on existing products; work with manufacturing, purchasing and vendors to qualify new materials to enhance our product offering; manage NPI programs; follow through on open issues; implement and manage product cost reduction efforts; perform related duties as necessary.

Four-year degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Chemical, with 0-5 years in a manufacturing or product engineering role desired.  The successful candidate will possess knowledge, skills and/or abilities in statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; project management; quality material manufacturing processes; customer relations; team leadership/facilitation and superior computer skills using Microsoft office and Minitab. Oracle experience preferred.

Thin Films Technician - Temporary Long Term  

Job requirements include a 2- or 4-yr technical (Mechanical or Electrical) degree with 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. 

Good to have:

CAD experience

Experience with Mechanical and Electrical systems including Pumps, electrical diagrams, PLC

Knowledge, skills and/or abilities in statistical tools; systematic problem solving methods; quality systems; materials manufacturing processes; leadership/facilitation and customer support with the ability and willingness to travel internationally. Experience with sputtering and evaporation technologies.

Job Duties Include:

Maintaining, running, troubleshooting and working with roll-to-roll vacuum deposition equipment.

Maintenance Technician - Second Shift  

Representative job duties include:  install, maintain and repair production machines and plant facility equipment.  Candidate will be able to diagnose, modify, replace and/or repair parts to resolve the problem equipment using hand or power tools and/or electronic meters.  Must be able to detect faulty equipment or defective material and report to management or engineering for resolution; comply with all safety regulations; maintain a clean and orderly work area; must have excellent communication skills.

Job requirements include a high school diploma, 2 year technical degree or equivalent and maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. 

Production Operators  

We are currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift production operators.  Job requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with good work history and attendance.  Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
