Quality Manager

This position will have leadership responsibility for the quality process for Sheldahl Materials and Sheldahl Optical materials business units. Representative job duties include:

Coordinate and determine quality metrics for all products, processes and new business development projects in conjunction with the company Quality Policy and Objectives.

Coordinate and manage all internal and external quality audits and interface with customers during quality issues, audits and reviews.

Manage customer complaint and corrective action processes and procedures ensuring timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders and follow up to assess effectiveness.

Implement appropriate HR strategies to recruit, train, and retain qualified people in the department.

Establish continuous improvement programs focusing on customer requirements.

Define quality goals for all manufacturing processes. Benchmark to comparable world class processes. Administer and manage a continuous improvement program for these processes to achieve world class status.

Formulate, implement and evaluate quality strategic programs identifying problems affecting quality.

Provide routine reports and presentations to management team, complete and on-time.

Assure 100% on-time delivery at highest quality levels.

Assure 100% customer satisfaction through continuous improvement using Six-Sigma tools and concepts.

Work closely with Process Engineering, Quality Control Production, Pre-production engineering, equipment and vendors to drive continuous improvement.

Assure all quality documents are strictly adhered to, such as Statistical Process Control charts, control plans, failure mode effectiveness analysis, etc.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Electronic, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering or related disciplines.

10-years’ working experience in an electronic manufacturing environment, of which 2 years should be in Materials processing and electronic component manufacturing.

Minimum of three years managerial experience.

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control software.

Hands on experience in TS 19649, ISO 9000, QS-9000 and ISO 14000 systems.

Six Sigma green or black belt certification preferred.

Familiar with multinational and Tier 1 customer requirements and expectations.

Possess critical thinking ability and problem solving skills.

Must be assertive and analytical with leadership qualities.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
