IFT Receives Coveted Supplier of the Year Award from GE Medical Systems

Endicott, New York -March 27, 2001 - International Flex Technologies (IFT), a division of Sheldahl, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHEL), announced today that it has been selected by General Electric (GE) Medical Systems as Supplier of the Year for Quality for the year 2000. IFT was chosen from 1000 suppliers to receive this prestigious award for providing outstanding customer quality and satisfaction.

IFT became GE Medical Systems preferred production supplier when the flexible circuitry used in GE's digital X-ray detectors was transitioned from a previous supplier to IFT. The change provided an immediate 60 percent improvement in quality.
